Carmen Sutherland has lived in both Canada and the United States. She did her undergraduate and graduate studies in Illinois. There, she learned to take pride in her identity as a woman with a disability. She a background in Rehabilitation Counselling, and loves to build community for everyone, especially people with disabilities. She lives independently in Ontario, Canada with lots of help from her Personal Support Worker friends, who help her live a full and flexible life, which includes both work with others with disabilities and fun. She loves getting to know people, eating good food, and watching TV.
